ABU DHABI

Done by Native believes language learning should be integrated with cultural learning. We plan frequent cultural and sight seeing activities for our students and equip our students with the necessary skills to explore on their own. Excursions are planned with participant input, and past  program-run trips have included visits to local museums, restaurants, and cultural attractions. Done by Native organizes all transportation for program-run trips, and provides a knowledgeable tour guide.

Done by Native adopts a 'learning for life' model to its language instruction programming, meeting each participant where they are. For absolute beginners, Done by Native offers a survival Arabic crash course so that participants can begin speaking in weeks. For more advanced speakers, Done by Native customizes our curricula to match the subject interests of our participants. DbN's language instruction programming is fun and engaging while allowing students to better connect with their new environment.

Program participants will stay at a hotel with great access to the city center of Abu Dhabi for the duration of the program. Delicious restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and cultural attractions will all be within walking distance. Participants are paired into roommate pairs based on their application responses, and program rooms will be placed near each other in order to foster a strong sense of program community. Abu Dhabi (أبو ظبي) is the capital of the UAE with a population with an urban population of 1.5 million. A quite lively city, Abu Dhabi is considered a major economic and cultural center and acts as the UAE's political center. While being a highly-developed and modern metropolis, Abu Dhabi is also surrounded by archeological evidence of the regions rich history. Abu Dhabi sits on an island along the Arabian Peninsula, connected to the mainland by several bridges.
